Hello
I'm at a dead end and don't know where to go next.
I'm looking for the parents of Albetenar (Albertina, Albetina, Albetena) Roberts b. abt 1824 Shaftesbury, Dorset.
Her marriage cert. gives her father's name as George Roberts, occupation - Sawyer
I have found a George and Maria Roberts on the 1851 census in Bath [HO 107 1942 pg 19]
This George is a Sawyer, Albertina isn't there because she is already living with Edwin Jenkins in Bethnal Green, who she marries in September the following year. [HO 107/ 1542 folio 618 pg 9]
I would like to be able to decide if this is the right family for my Albertina.
Can anyone please help me to find a connection?

Having an interest in Shaftesbury - where my ggg grandparents came from - your query caught my eye  . From the Dorset online parish clerks is this birth
1823; 24-Aug; Rapetina daughter of; George & Maria; Roberts; Holy Trinity; Labourer
Given the variation in name & the problem mentioned with transcription - looks to be a possibility

Thanks for this information.
I did see Rossina on the IGI, but I'm not sure of the link there.
There is also the marriage for George Roberts and Maria Case, 18 Feb 1822.
Which might be my family.
I will have a look at the link you have provided, thanks for that.
This is the first time I have needed to look in Dorset for family members so it's all new ground for me.
