Hi mtyler,
Your best bet for finding their parents would be to get their marriage certificate from Scotlands People. As you say, they married the 21st of June 1861 in Kilmarnock. Both William and Janet's parents should be named on the cert. and it will tell you the father's occupation and whether any of the parents were deceased. Quite a lot of useful information. Here's a list of William and Janet's children, in case you didn't have them.
John 29th March 1862 Agnes 12th March 1864 James 9th November 1866 William 15th March 1869 Mary 16th September 1871 George 1st March 1874
All born Kilmarnock.

No problem at all. If you need anymore help with their parents' generation, don't hesitate to ask.

I found that William McLuckie was son of John McLuckie and Mary Niesh. Janet Watson is daughter of James Watson and Ann Sinclair

Hi again mtyler,
I can't find the birth of William to those parents but there is a probable brother, John, christened the 12th of July 1835 in Campsie, Stirlingshire. John McLuckie and Mary Niesh wed on the fourth of June 1835, again in Campsie.
Haven't had the same luck with Janet's birth/christening or her parents. All above information comes from FamilySearch.
There's a posting on Rootsweb, concerning the McLuckie family of Campsie. It was posted back in 2000 but there is a recent reply to it.

Hi mtyler,
I hope this thread is still alive, I have only just found it.
John McLuckie and Mary Neish were my Gr Gr grandparents so I would be interested if you have any earlier history.
My Gr grandfather was William.
It would be great to hear from you if we are distantly related.
I am now living in New Zealand.
Cheers Ian

Hello MTyler,
Your William McLuckie, i can see him on the 1861. census index, living in Kilmarnock, born Campsie, age 24 years, that is all the info the index shows, he does not seem to be living with any relations.
Your Janet Watson, what is her age, and Address, on her marriage certificate, to see if i can find her with parents, on the index.
Regards, Jonn.

Hi MTyler
My Ggrandparents were William McLuckie and Janet Watson. My Grandparents were their youngest son George b1874 and Ethel Hardstaff (married in London I think) My parents were George McLuckie b1.5.05 and Evelyn Lynch b11.11.05. My father had a sister Georgina (definite lack of imagination with names)
I will give you my work email because the spam filters are better than at my home email and you never know who is scanning these posts. I.D.McLuckie@massey.ac.nz (I am a lecturer at Massey University)

Hello MTyler, and Ian,
I dont Know if you have the 1881. census for William, and Janet.
Address, 24 Bonniston Square, Kilmarnock.
McLuckie William, Head, Iron Finisher, M. age 46 years, Born Campsie, Stirling, McLuckie Janet, Wife, M. age 42 years, born Kilwinning, Ayr, McLuckie John, Son, Cabinet Maker, U. age 19 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, McLuckie Agnes, Daur, Book Folder, U. age 17 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, McLuckie James, Son, Message Boy, U. age 14 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, McLuckie William, Son, Scholar, age 12 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, McLuckie Mary, Daur, Scholar, age 9 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, McLuckie George, Son, Scholar, age 7 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, McLuckie Duncan, Son, age 4 years, born Kilmarnock, Ayr, Jamesina McDonald, Adopted, age 1 year, born Edinburgh, Edinburgh.
MTyler, i am a little confused you say in a earlier post that Janet Watson's, mother is Ann Sinclair, then in a later post you say Janet, as her mothers name.
On Janet's, wedding certificate, did it say she was living in Kilmarnock, i know you stated it was difficult to read, also did it mention if her parents were deceased.
I cannot identify a Janet Watson, within the age group you mention, living with parents James Watson, and a Ann, or Janet, in the 1851, or 1861, census for the whole of Ayrshire.
Regards, Jonn.

Jonn,
It says father James Watson coal miner and does not state deceased and mother looks like Ann on certificate maiden name Sinclair. It says something about West England or so it appears that is what it says

Hi MTyler and John,
Your data agrees with what I have. I misread my own info when I said George was the youngest.
Where do you fit into the family?
It is nice to be in contact.
Regards Ian
