Hi Wendy
Any idea where??? Norfolk is a very big place and 1841 is not indexed!
I can look if you can narrow it down to a village but not in Norwich, Lynn, Yarmouth etc etc.

Hi Wendy,
I tried a different approach.
The Norfolk Transcription Archives: http://www.genealogy.doun.org/transcriptions/index.php
lists 153 entries for FRANKLIN
Document Type Number of entries Last entry Baptisms (Parish Register) 38 May 24, 2004 Baptisms (Bishop's Transcripts) 28 May 24, 2004 Banns (Parish Register) 2 February 26, 2001 Marriages (Parish Register) 16 May 24, 2004 Marriages (Bishop's Transcripts) 5 May 24, 2004 Burials (Parish Register) 16 May 24, 2004 Burials (Bishop's Transcripts) 12 July 20, 2003 War Memorials 1 September 20, 2001 Census Returns 28 July 20, 2003 Surveys 6 July 02, 2000 Hearth Taxes 1 July 05, 2000
Under Census I found these people in Hornington:
Place Register Year Surname, Forename, Age Position, Status, Occupation Born Fol/Page - No. Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, William, 20 M S Nfk 8 10 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Mahala, 6 Nfk 7 7 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Maria, 30 Nfk 7 7 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Diana, 5 Nfk 6 5 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Alice, 40 Nfk 6 5 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Isaach, 2 Nfk 7 8 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Elishalia, 8 Nfk 7 7 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Horace, 35 Nfk 7 7 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Alice, 9 Nfk 6 5 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Abel, 40 Farming Bailiff Nfk 6 5 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Henry, 14 M S Nfk 9 12 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Caleb, 4 Nfk 7 7 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Forby, 12 Nfk 7 7 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Susanna, 1 Nfk 6 5 Mitford & Launditch District Horningtoft 1841 FRANKLIN, Abel, 15 Nfk 6 5
Some of them are definitely yours, but it's hard to tell, the way they appear, who belongs to which family !
Hope this helps Bob
ps. The RootsChat software is interpreting your names-interests as a single word, and has increased the screen width to cope with it. If you edit your name interests to include a spaces, e.g. between SILBERNAGEL and GILLANDERS, the line will wrap round automatically, and the screen width will be normal again.

Hi Bob,
Great to hear from you and thankyou for the information. Yes some of the family I am looking for is definately listed in the 1841 census. My g.g.g'mother is listed there under Elishalia, however I believe her name to be Elishaba/Elisheba. Thankyou for the advice re:names, I will endeavour to correct that. I'm sending you a seperate email as well.
Appreciate your help,
cheers,
Wendy
PS: That's a good website
