Can anyone help me in finding more info out on this chappy! Who is Johnson Slote and he was born in Huntingdonshire abt 1834 i thought in Ramsey but im not sure now. I do know his parents and who he married but im wanting to know when he was born really or if anyone can tell me a website i can go on for parish regs so i can check for him. Any info greatly recieved!! OR...is there anyone reading this that is tracing the Slotes anywhere?

A shame you didn't say who his parents were. As he gave his birthplace as Whittlesea Cambs in 1851 you should check the baptism index on the Cambs FHS website at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html.
If his parents were Benjamin and Sarah then you'll find him in the index, baptised in 1833 at Thorney, abode Whittlesea

Name & Religion come just after Date of birth....

Hello, I've looked but cannot find him or his father Benjamin on 1841 census. I notice from the IGI the marriage to Sarah Stokes at Holme, Hunts on 22 Feb 1832 was a member submission, & there is a later extracted marriage to Elizabeth Wright on 1 June 1841 again at Holme Hunts. So I am assuming Sarah Slote had died before the 1841 census. Although I cannot find a BMD death index for her betwen 1837 - 1841.
Were there any other children to Benjamin & Sarah that we could search for on 1841 census. I've been looking at Slote names on Genes ReUnited & notice other contacts have Johnson, & others such as George 1838, Joseph 1836, William 1834. Have you been in touch with these GR contacts.
On 1851 census there is a 'Bengam Sloate' age 44 born Stanground, Peterborough married to Elizabeth age 33 born Sawtry Cambs, with childrem starting b 1842 - living in Ramsey, Hunts.

Good find yonderpeasant! I still can't pick it up on Ancestry, but have found it on my CDrom set (parish of Glatton) from the reference you quoted.
Did you find it on a site other than Ancestry?

'allo David, I'm glad you brought that up, but I too can't find a Ben* Slo* at that reference quoted by YonderPheasant... . And then who is the Elizabeth - they did not marry until after the census date !

it was on origins but I had to search on one of the other names on the opposite page to find it on ancestry as believe it or not Ancestry images are clearer.I think they have missed the transcription for that side of the page.
Wasnt the 1841 taken on June 6th?

It's odd on Ancestry as just putting in the reference throws up nothing and Glatton is not included in the list of parishes for Hunts. Not sure what they've been playing at!
Yes, 6 June 1841 was the date

Yes Benjamin Slote and Sarah Stokes had other children called William abt 1834, Robert abt 1839, George 1838 all Ramsey Huntingdonshire, Engalnd. Benjamin and sarah married 22 feb 1832 in Holme Huntingdonshire.
Sarah died 1839
