1891 Census for Middlesbrough
« on: Tuesday 29 May 07 19:46 UTC (UK) »

Hi

I would like to have the details of the rest of the family of James Hubert DICKSON born 1884 in Middlesbrough, North Riding, Yorkshire.  I'm hoping that he will appear with them in the 1891 Census for that county.

Regards,

Robin

Hi

Is anyone else looking ?? I thought it may be the family on the 1891 transcribed as Vukson??

RG12 4008 22 37

Father is Gordon Dickson, Draper from Scotland, living in Marton Road, just not sure about the children's name, 2nd pair of eyes would be good

Hi Jane

I have had a look (somewhat belatedly) and it definitely says Dickson for their surname but I think that the James aged 7 and born in Middlesbrough is James T.

Looking at the birth indexes there was James Hubert Dickson registered in Middlesbrough in 1884 and also James Todd Dickson. I suspect that the one on this census entry is James Todd Dickson.

Looking at the same family in 1901 (RG13/4581 Folio 191 Page 24). I think that it again says James T for this person. Although it is transcribed as James S it looks more like a T to me (by comparison with other letters on the page). It is definitely not an H.

Sorry Undecided
