Could anyone check for a TROY family in1891 please. Possible link to Wighton?
I have a Kearns Troy (death Reg. Walsingham 1893) Possibly a son John Alfred Troy 13 yrs.
Think the family may have been in Northumberland 1881, RG11 5048 152 10 but no clear reference to individuals other than Head of family 33 yrs, Wife 27 yrs and daughter 7 months.
Any help appreciated Knellie

There is a John Alfred TROY in 1901 that might be your John A from 1891. He is aged 24, born London, and is in the Royal Navy, Kent, aboard the Wildfire. His rank is given as Seaman.
Also this in 1881 :-
1881 Census England Norfolk Wighton RG11/1985/83/8 Street
CLAXTON John Head Marr 56 Ag Lab Norfolk Wighton Rebecca M Wife Marr 58 Norfolk Wighton Robert Son Unmarr 15 Ag Lab Norfolk Wighton John Alfred TROY Grand Son Unmarr 2 London
A quick search on Free BMD found a marriage for Kearns TROY and Martha Ann CLAXTON, September Quarter 1876, Holborn, Middlesex, 1b 1175.
The 1881 entry to which you refer is torn across the top of the page. The only information for the first family is the end of the surname, the letters look like TORY. Whoever they are the head was 33 and a leather finisher born in Newcastle on Tyne. Doubt this is your family as on the 1891 it shows Kearns birthplace as London.
Still looking on the 1881

Wow! Thank you so much for all your effort.
Family information states that family had to move from Norfolk to Northumberland at one point.
With other info. I have this confirms links. I find Kearns quite fascinating, although his age varies a great deal!!
I think John A. marries an Annie Smith in March qtr. 1902 and one of their children is named Kearns (Reg. March 1908).
