Richard & Frances Maris 1861 Census
« on: Wednesday 30 May 07 19:20 BST (UK) »

Hi

Can anyone help find Richard and Frances Maris and family on the 1861 census for Cambridge.

In 1851 they were in the city.

Frances had died by 1862 and Richard by 1869.

Thanks in advance.

Frances was née Morris - yes ?

Was her mother Ann ?

Theres a Frederick Morris Grandson with an Ann Morris in Leverington - roughly the right age.... but dubious really ...

But apart from that they've disappeared - usual techniques have failed !

None of the kids names / ages showed up with a mother Fran* or Father Ric*

No Deaths, no remarriages .....

Guess they didnt emigrate as a possible Fred (a Gen Labourer) shows up as a Lodger in Cambridge in 1871 and 1881 ... ?

Also it looks like John (a Shoemaker) ends up in Northampton in 1881 - no specific PoBs tho .... but 2 kids named Frances and Frederick ....

Hi Newfy and Fizzy

Frances was nee Morris, Newfy.

Only know from her marriage to Richard father John as a servant in 1841 away from home.

You are correct about Frederick and John the sons.

In 1871 Richard the son is in Warmington, Northants.

Thank you so much for looking.

Fizzy can you note the details for where John and Elizabeth especially are in 1871 please.

Thank you both.

Sandy
