Kerry

Like Julian, I will have a good look later. The sun is shining and it's too nice to be inside on the PC

Hi everyone

Got a question for you.

What width are people setting webpages at these days?  Mine are set at 800 pixels which is looking very narrow.  Mind you I do have a wide screen but even so is 800 too narrow now?

Hi Kerry

I've just checked and mine's 1024, centred in browser.

I think there was a thread on it a while ago(*). i think the advice was to set it for the least large monitors but i wanted it to look right in my browser  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Thanks Gadget and thanks Bob

I'll go and have a read.  I want visitors to be able to view without annoying scrolling side to side, its bad enough up and down but if other people are viewing it as narrow as I am it does not look right and goes further down the page.  Roll Eyes

Evening fellow RCers,

I am a newbie (be gentle with me please...lol) at website development. I have seen JulianB's and Kerry's websites and they look gr8 to me. After seeing JulianB's website I contacted him and he then intro'd me to NetObjects Fusion, so I thought I would work with it and see what happens. I have downloaded NOF Essentials from the web.  I know I will have to do a bit of reading to do before I start doing some actual work but I am curious as to if NOF does CSS format?

Thx, JDC

Hi JDC

Yes it does. Mine was built with NOF9 which is nearly fully CSS. NOF10 is supposed to be fully CSS.Feel free to ask whatever you like about NOF here - we all help and learn from each other  Smiley

Just been having a look at NOF9. I'm on an old laptop so it took a bit longer to get up. It does have a CSS editor  Smiley

I see they are now advertising the advent of NOF 11 ---  I think I'll give it a miss after the disappointment that was NOF 10

I agree - I'm sticking with 9  Smiley

Added - will they stop supporting it eventually?

Hi Folks,

I am just starting and using the NOF Essentials. I am sure I will want to go to a full version at some point.... will I have an option of not going with the newest version?

Hi JDC

I think that you can get hold of Freebee NOF9 full versions now - it might be a good idea to investigate.

JDC

If you want a copy of NOF9 and can't get hold of a freebie PM me as I have one on a magazine CD.

I'm sticking with 9 until they no longer support me, its brilliant.

Hi Kerry,

Thx for the offer Kerry, I may have to take you up on it. However, I will look online first to see if I can download a free version of NOF9 (as Gadget suggests) from somewhere before I do that. I'll let you know how my search goes :-)

I hope you manage to find one JDC, I've just remembered I lent the CD to a work colleague who wanted some web software and he hasn't returned it to me  Undecided Angry
