Could someone check a Census for 1851 for me - I've a family in 1841 & 1861 I just can't find them in the 1851 Census - it would be something like this:
Thomas Dix b 1830, Walcot, Bath poss. labourer Charlotte Dix wife b c1822, Bath Charles Dix son b 1849 Walcot Bath Possibly - Elizabeth Dix mother, b 1790/2, Bath
The name could be Dick(e)s, or (as in 1841) Dixs.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks heywood
I've just found a marriage in Bath FreeBMD - Dec Q 1855. Thomas Dix & Charlotte Byfield - Its taken some time because I was looking for a marriage before Charles' birth! That must be the right Charlotte & Charles - not sure about the Thomas who's a shepherd. In 1861 he gives his birthplace as Walcot, Bath, where the family were in 1841. The Elizabeth (on her own) could well be the right one,
thanks again
