Hi All,
I have been given the following information about our relation - can any help us?
The problem is John Wheatley's wife Mary Ansell. She was either the daughter of Joseph Ansell and Mary Cleverly (bap. 22-2-1761) or the daughter of Samuel Ansell and Susan Taylor (bap. 3-2-1762). One of these two was buried at Ware on 25th May 1770. The other one married John Wheatley, but which one ?
Now pick the bones out of that!!!!
Cheers
Keith

Hi,
To add some petrol to the flames, I came to the conclusion that Mary Ansell bapt 1761 probably married William JOHNSON in Ware on 24 Apr 1786.....

Hi Keith,
May I suggest that you ask someone to check the Ware Parish Registers for the death of Mary Ansell in 1770. Hopefully that will tell you whose daughter she was.
Then you just need to find out who the other one married - either William Johnson (from HogHedge) or John Wheatley.
Again, checking the PR's for both marriages may provide further info particularly checking who the witnesses were (possibly rellies). If married by Banns - checking the Banns register may also help with relative names.
Good luck
Di

Do your Ansells have any relation to the Ansells of Wheathamstead, Hertfordshire?
My Wheathamstead Ansells are -
Thomas Ansell (bc1752) m Elizabeth (mn unknown). Their daughters were - Sarah Ansell (bc1775) m George East (bc1873) in 1893 Elizabeth Ansell (bc1778) m Thomas Brown (b1776) in 1796 at Hatfield
Elizabeth is my 5x great grandmother.

Children of Joseph & Mary Ansell were:-
Mary 1761 Abraham 1762 Joseph 1765 Thomas 1769 Elizabeth 1773
Children of William & Mary (nee Ansell) Johnson were:-
William 1788 Abraham 1791 Robert 1794 Joseph 1798
Abraham and Joseph weren't names used by any other Johnson families that I know of.
The Ware and Wheathampstead Ansells were probably related but don't know how.

Hi HogHedge,
Thanks for that - trying to sort them all out.
What I have is my John Tabram marriage to Elizabeth Wheatley - then all is "guesswork"
Cheers

Me again!!
I have Elizabeth Tabram (55) with Prudence Wheatley (45) together in the 1841 census (sister-in-laws)
Which connects their families elsewhere.
Cheers
