Help needed from a Hawes resident please
I have managed to trace this couple to the Hawes area in 1901 census but cannot make sense of the address 114 Neukin. Is this a legitimate address or am I reading it wrongly?

Hi again  Wink

Looks like Newkin to me. (114 being the enumeration schedule number rather than the house number).

The above site will give you the Chapmans living at Newkin Hawes in 1901 plus all the other census returns for the upper dales area.

Was this the John Chapman bap June 12th 1867 Neukin Hawes, son of Matthew Chapman and Jane Raine?
If so , which Ada did he marry?
