Emma Horspool Brooks - baptism look-up please
« on: Wednesday 06 June 07 19:00 BST (UK) »

Emma was born circa 1859 in Markfield (as per 1861/71 Censuses).  She married William Wootton on 31st July, 1877, in Barlestone (I think).  I don't have any further information other than on the marriage entry she has no father listed.  On the Censuses she is with her grandparents - James and Dorothy Brooks.  I am trying to find her mother and also where the name Horspool has come from as her middle name.

Many thanks
Wendy

OK, so who are the candiate mothers?
(daughters of James & Dorothy). Name, year of birth, place of birth...
We'll then see what can be done.

Three names found so far as likely candidates:-

Sarah born circa 1833
Mary born circa 1837
Eliza born circa 1839

Thanks again Mike,  yes it has helped a lot - I was wondering if the name Horspool could have come from Emma's father? but we may never know the answer to that.   I shall have to look into some of her ancestors to see if a grandparent had the name.   Thanks again,

Wendy
