Joe Smith was Mayor of Keighley in the years 1956 to64 he had been a councillor since 1931.In 1979 he was made a freeman of the city.J oe was the son of Arthur Smith a cab proprietor in Keighley. He was the brother of my grandmother Ada Smith who married a Scot named Hugh Wallace Kerr. Anyone recognise them and have a connection.
