trystan

You have created a monster!!!

No, seriously.  Would it not be easier for you if you made up a page for us numbskulls to go on so you weren't repeating yourself hundreds of times?  I have just looked at the last few postings and they are all similar.  Wasting your time telling lots of people the same thing.

Thanks for your support, it will be worth it in the end.

Happy New year.

I have been looking at these posts over the last few weeks and I must admit that I am even more lost!

Could someone please suggest one way to put together a webpage for a total idiot, one that just about knows how to read & write.

I, in my innocence, thought I could just put a page together like typing a book and hey presto, it's done but it does not appear to be so?

If it is not really for a total novice I will have to forego my local and family history webpage and progress to a book.

Thanks for your help and many congratulations to everyone who has put together their own pages.

It can be done as you have described ... without learning HTML or any of the other languages .

One such program is Netscape Fusion and it acts just like a desktop publishing program ...... there are other WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) type programs ...... If you would like a copy of Fusion I have two spares which were slightly older versions given away on computer magazines . The program is fully functional and the manual is on the CD

Sorry forgot to add the program is for windows PC only.
