If anyone has access to Canadian Birth Records I would appreciate you looking for the details of the following individuals - both the children of Albert and Alice Ball:
Dolly Alice Florence BALL born (probably during June-August) 1914 Appleton, Ontario (perhaps as specific as Ramsey Township, Lanark County).
Albert BALL born 4th or 14th March 1921, Toronto, Ontario
Thanks

Hi Peckham,
Unfortunately, in Ontario births are only public until 1910 and that the moment, anything past that year you have to order directly from the Gov't of Ontario and you have to be next of kin or entitled to the birth certificate.
A new year is added each year, once they are public they are free to view on microfilm. Marriages are available up to 1924 and Deaths 1935, I think?

Hello Karen:
Thanks for your response.
I noticed in your list of name interests “Ellis”
Does your lineage include either of the following?
Elizabeth Ellis baptised 14 April 1718 Hawkhurst, Kent, England Married Joseph Spice 12 May 1737
Edward F. Ellis born 28 January 1921 in Birmingham, England Mother’s maiden name “Loose” married Gwendoline M. [aka Barbara and/or Betty] Beckett, September Quarter 1949, Newport M., 8c, 650.
Regards

Your welcome Peckham
As for my Ellis, I'm having trouble figuring out who they are exactly
My gr-gr grandmother is Sophia Ellis who was born c1830. I'm not sure where she was born though, sometimes it says England and other times it says Canada. She died in Ontario and her granddaughter was the informant, but not sure how correct she was in her information. I have not been able to find her in the 1851 census for Ontario, but by the time 1861 comes around she is married to Benjamin Bowman. I have not found a marriage for her and Benjamin, although I do know they were married in Ontario, somewhere
I have recently started again on my Ellis and Bowman lines and have a few microfilms on order from the Ontario Archives, so perhaps I might find a clue.

Hello Peckham
You might want to ask for a birth announcement lookup in the Toronto Star newspaper. This could be a possibility you. Some fellow rootschatters have access to the Toronto Star online. I checked the Globe & Mail online for March 1921 and did not find a birth announcement for Albert.
Karen, I am pretty sure you would know, but just in case. Looks like your Sophia may have had an additional marriage April 30, 1890 to Moses Springer. Age would be about right. Did the grand daughter list Sophia's parents as Henry & Sophia? http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~maryc/went90.htm

Hello Again
Appleton is a pretty village in Lanark County. I've often driven across the little bridge over the Mississippi River there.
For Dolly - Information should be found in The Lanark Era - Births, Marriages and Deaths 1912 - 1936, Vol. Two compiled by: Peter E. Andersen as surname Ball is included in this volume. http://globalgenealogy.com/countries/canada/ontario/lanark/resources/101004.htm#index
This publication is available in my local library, I will see what I can find out for you and get back to you.

Hello Linda:
Thank you so much for your response and offer of assistance.
If she is listed then it will complete the details of her very brief life. She died of diptheria aged 5 on the 19 July 1919 in the isolation hospital in York (Toronto).
Regards

Hello Peckham
Got to the library and viewed volume 2 (1912-1936) and volume 3 (Missing issues to 1930). Your Dolly is not in either volume. There must not have been a birth announcement. Anyway it was a try.
Cheers, Linda

I checked the Toronto Star, but unfortunately could not find birth listings for names mentioned.
