been stuck here for a while now...


Robt and Sarah Clarke my 4th gt grandparents

parents of john Clarke married to Sarah Newman
parents of Thomas Clarke /Shenton
married to Sarah Yorke...

But cannot go further back than Robert and Sarah 1772 church lawford.


Then I have a query with Henry haywood 1744 Witherley?

and a Sarah Goodwin married to  1772 married to Thomas Jarram....


any help would really be appreciated xxx Kiss

Hello Xinia.
Just a thought.    Many years ago I was at RAF station Church Lawford.   But that was near Rugby, Warwickshire.   But maybe there is one in Leicestershire as well - place not RAF station Smiley

Closest in Leicestershire
is Church Langton
Which is close to Shenton
if Shenton was the Village
and not a surname

1841 census  shows Robt Clarke age 70 living in Church Lawford - nr Rugby with Sarah as his wife...
and that Sarah is from Church Lawford and Robt not?!?!?

Then in the 1841 for Shenton John Clarke 45 with Sarah 45 and son  Thomas age 10
John not born Shenton...... but they married in orton on hill  I think??

my family is

Alice Clarke b.Barwell1875 daughter of Thomas b 1830 and Sarah b 1841 nee Yorke both born Shenton ..

Then John Clarke b 1796 and Sarah Newman b 1797 both orton on hill...(  Thomas's parents  ...)
Then Robert b 1772  ? area  and Sarah.  b church Lawford...John's parents.

I have quite a lot on the Yorkes up to   Thomas Green 1711 on one side
and Benjamin Leavis 1751 Barwell/Shilton area on the other....
