Thomas BAYLEY was born 1816, St. James, Poole, Dorset. I have that baptismal entry. In a mini- biography I was blessed to received, it states that his "parents died when he was about 5-6 years old and he was sent to Bristol to live with his grandparents."
In that regard, I found the death entry for his mother, Sarah, St. James, Poole 1821, but nothing at all for his father.
My question is, where would I look for marriage entries for St. James, Poole, probably between 1810-1816? And a death for his father also between 1820-1830.
PS: Was Bristol in that time part of Gloucester or Somerset?
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
Grub

According to Genuki:
Bristol, city, municipal and parliamentary borough, seaport, and county of itself, chiefly in Gloucestershire but partly in Somerset ,
Not that helpful? I assume Gloucestershire is your best bet.

According to Pigot & Co Ancient Counties Map of 1840, it is in Somerset.
