I am trying to find any information on a Price Watkis Born in 6 april 1801 in Shrewsbury. His fathers name was John Watkis and Mother Elizabeth Price. Price had several children born in Jamaica. and lived in Shrewsbury.
I descend from His Daughter Jane Watkis who married Richard Fletcher. She was Born In Jamaica. Married in England and Died In Australia.

there was a Theophilus Watkis listed at Broseley Wood in 1895.Professor of Music and organisy,Broeley Parish Church.

in the early 1900's a Miss Hilda Watkis was organist.

Even earlier in Broseley, George Watkiss was a witness at a wedding 6th Jan 1783. As he was also a witness to the previous wedding on the same day perhaps he was a church organist too!

Shropshire: Shrewsbury - St. Mary Parish Registers, Lichfield Diocese

26 Apr 1753 John Watkiss & Eliz. Price, Lic., mar.
20 Feb 1762 Price, s. of John Watkis & Eliz., bap.

a bit before the time you want, but it might help a bit.

Poss birth of Elizabeth same parish,

03 May 1722 Elizabeth, d. of Joseph Price & Elizabeth, bap.
 
Give me a shout if you are stuck in Shrewsbury pre 1805 ish.
