By looking at our past, we can know why we are
|
My g grandfather was William John MUTCH born c1860 . He was married in Bolton Lancs in 1879. He was illegitimate according to his marriage certificate. The censuses of 1881, 1891 and 1901 show his birthplace as Bolton. There are no other Mutches in the Bolton area and I cannot find any record of his birth in England. Family legend is that he was Scottish and may have come from Ferryhill. Can anyone find him on a census for 1861 or 1871 or as a Scottish birth? I would be really grateful Val

Mo I can find nothing for him before his marriage (plenty afterwards) no Mutches in Bolton. Nearest is in Liverpool but not him., You are right he is a mystery. His children were Maria (pronounced Mariya), Ernest, Albert. William, Nellie. Emily, George, Maud and Frank. I don't know if any of these were the names of his parent(s) Funny how these relatives appear from nowhere and in some cases disappear. Only family hisatory tells me that William Mutch was Scottish
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I believe that Nellie was my grandmother, she was a twin and the 13th child, my mother is with me presently and is 89 years old, Nellie lived until she was 90, I am talking to my mother in the morning and seeing if she recognizes other names in this message. Isabelle
