Seeking any information on James Harris born Broomfield, Essex 1783-1786, Married Jane (1788/90 - 1866) from Battle, Sussex.
1841 and 1851 census has them at Chelmsford.
Ellen Jane daughter born abt 1831 at Broomfield.
Ann abt 1818 not born in Essex
Harriet abt 1827 born in Essex hopefully Broomfield.
Any one seen them?

IF that is them Ann, Harriett, and Ellen Jane could have up to a dozen more siblings ouch!
There is a James Harris born abt 1814 (Ringmer Sussex) with wife Hannah from Broomfield, who in 1841 is at Union yard, Chelmsford, with in 9 families of James and Jane.
1851 Hannah and children is at (39) Broomfield Road, Chelmsford James and Jane at (41), Hewitt Family at 42. 37 and 38 also Harris families
1861 (97) Compass Row, Chelmsford, James and children, (98) widow Hewitt (99) Widow Jane Harris and attendant grandaughter Caroline Hutchinson?
Did Broomfild Road become Compass Row?
Coincidence or Kinship?
Do you tie in with Abraham and Sophia?

Hi Ian
Just made contact and confirmed that Eleanor Jane and Ellen Jane harris 1831 from Broomfield married to William Kemp 1851 at Chelmsford, are one and same. Father James, was a thatcher on March 1851 census and on May 1851 marriage.
Still no closer in solving the Abraham Sophia James cousin relationship issue.
Did you ever hear how the Fulchers and Charlotte Hutchinson, tied in to Abraham and Sophia?
I heard that after the parents deaths the 3 Hutchinson children came out to Uncle and Aunty Abraham and Sophia Harris in NZ. (from old Fulchers)
1987 Len Harris said Sophia bought them out?

Grahame Harris just sent confirmation of the marriage to Jane Muggeridge, listed 4 new children born to couple in Battle, and 1 Chelmsford and one of these Battle ones is SOPHIA, lists a removal order to Broomfield from Battle.
