Hi Can anyone help solve this mystery please!
1.I am seeking the parents Of FANNY COX HILL birth registered Sept 1852. Baptised at Newton Bromswold baptised at Newton Bromswold 22 June 1852 to Letitia Hills a widow - no father's name given!
1. In March Q 1860 I have Letitia HILLS marrying GEORGE BODDINGTON both died in 1877. All events at Newton Bromswold. They had a son Abraham in 1862.
2. I have an entry from the Newton Bromswold Parish Register which tells me that Letitia TWELFTREES(Twelvetrees etc) married John HILLS 14 October 1845. (should be Dec Qtr registration right?)
3. On Free BMD Letitia Twelftrees married either George COX, George WELLS or William Twelftrees Dec Q 1845???
I think Letitia was born about 1816. Could some one find her in 1851/61 and advise who she is with and where? Maybe as Letitia Hills Letitia Cox Letitia Wells??
I'm confused & going to bed - please surprise me in the morning! TIA Marlene New Zealand

Kia Ora Tati Many thanks - I had that marriage originally & then got a transcription from a local of the NB Register which threw me a bit! I'm sure that's right as Henry grew up to be a methodist minister and we have the photo.
The first Fanny died in 1847 as did the father I think, so the 2nd - Fanny Cox Hills was definitely illegit. The Sophia with them in 1851 will be Letitia's sister.
Could you see Letitia in 1861 born Melchbourne? Fanny is with George Boddington but I couldnn't find Letitia when I had Ancestry!! Very grateful for your help! regards Marlene

Hi Tati Yep I SHOULD have been - brain was whirling, eyes going sideways so I sloped off to the spa while you laboured away! THANK you very much - at a cursory glance it looks like my Lettice/Letty was slightly more respectable than I had given her credit!
I do like to have a clear picture in my mind before I order Certs so that I get a heap at once and can be reasonably sure it is logical! YOU have helped tremendously as I had no idea of George B's son George but I have other Tibrook connections so it makes a lot of sense! Interestingly the Lynes name fits in elsewhere in a very complicated fashion! Thanks ever so much! Marlene

Kia Ora Marilyn Thank you! I am somewhat amazed as a local sent me the entry from the NB Parish Register saying a John HILLS married Letitia TWELFTREES on 14 October 1845!
Hence me casting more nasturtiums than necessary on my poor Leititia!
I was totally confused! I think now I have enough information to get a straight line of descendancy on Letitia possibly born & baptised Melchbourne 1816.
I remain curious about the other couple though!! Maybe the cleric had too much communal wine! Time to prepare dinner and have one myself! Regards Marlene

Hi Carol I think we have been in touch before! I need to know about the Daniel T who married Sarah Earston in Melchbourne Beds in 1810!
I think he died between 1816 and 1832 and that Sarah remarried to a William T (brother or cousin??)
It seems their daughters including "my Letitia born c.1816 moved to Newton Bromswold.
Unfortunately I have seen a number of trees which are just nonsense so i'm looking for info I can prove! Maybe you can give me a steer! I'll leave the NZ family to answer your post on the other site! Good luck with your one name study! Marlene
