I have certainly never come across the name Dorrington in Hertfordshire. I live very near to Watton at Stone.

Just a bit of background.
Not a particularly common name in East Herts even now, although one family were friends of my parents, plus there is the Bakers in the Herts/Essex area with shops in Bishops Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Harlow, Dunmow, Saffron Walden and others.
The 1851 census lists 5 Samuel Dorringtons with Hertfordshire connections, although I think that should be 4 as it looks like the Watton one is listed twice.
