Hi I was wondering if anyone could help with the following information please:

My g/g/g grandfather was George Williams born c1799 Dunbar Parish, East Lothian.
George died 14/5/1875 at Henderson Row, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, Midolthian.

I have quite a bit of information on George, but cannot find anything on his parents or any siblings.  The limited information I have is as follows:

Father: George Williams
Mother: Janet Gibb

I do know that Janets parents were Thomas Gibb and Margaret Carse.

If anyone can provide suggestions for obtaining Georges family information it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

Hi tigerbelle,

Have you tried viewing George Snr and Janet's OPR marriage entry from ScotlandsPeople? If you are lucky, it may list George's parish (if not Dunbar) and possibly even a father's name.
