We have one lad who left the family blacksmith's business in Suffolk and travelled with his young wife to Derby, together with her brother John Frost.
Fruer Bridges of Framlingham SFK 1850-1905 married Louisa Jane Frost of Parham SFK
They had four sons in Derby St Peter's parish
Christopher 1878-1934
Arthur (no details)
Ernest (the baby of the family who died in 1905 at 17 Cowley Street Derby of TB - probate granted to Louisa Jane Bridges)
John Fruer Bridges who died in 1952. We know most about this son as his grandaughter is in touch with us. He married Bessie Self of Parham (where he spent many childhood holidays at his maternal grandparents home). their son Hubert Fruer Bridges married Ethel Goodwin and they had a daughter Judith.
If anyone is researching the descendants of Christopher Bridges or Arthur Bridges I would be delighted to hear from you (we have this family back a very long way in Suffolk).
There is a little more information on the Bridges family at http://www.eadt.co.uk/content/eadt/features/

It could well be Stephanie, I gave her all my information a few years ago and she tells me she has now passed all the information to her father Peter as she no longer has time to research. Neither of them wish to have contact - believe me I have tried.
I passed on research that I started in May 1971. Some of the information she has entered on GR is incorrect, not very careful with her typing - she has aged my husband John !
With thanks

Hi SM
Poor John, pity she didnt make him younger!
Ah well, nevermind - it was worth a go!
Have you tried writing to a few Derbyshire newspapers with the info you have posted here?
I tried this with a few of my lost rellies and got quite a response from well wishers and friends and neighbours etc. - Worth a go don't you think?
Cheers & Good Luck Jan

Thanks for the ideas, I think I will have to suggest a cottage in the Peak District again - we often used to have a week there with the children when they were little.
That way I can pop along to the RO in Matlock and have a good old rummage around PRs etc
Best regards, SM ...
