WASP family in Stoke by Nayland / Swilland ?
« on: Tuesday 12 June 07 16:51 BST (UK) »

I've just disovered that my ggg grandmother on my mother's side was a Lucy WASP (b. 1763 in Stoke By Nayland) who married Thomas PARKER (b. 1775 in Swilland).  I've not come across the WASP family before.  Has anyone else got them in their tree ?

Wasp/Waspe is not an uncommon name in Suffolk today.
I have worked with Waspe's in Hadleigh and in Sudbury (Stoke-by-Nayland lies between the two  Cheesy

Five people researching the name listed at Suffolk Surnames List too.

I have Wasp(e)s on my tree too.  They came from the Akenham/Ipswich/Needham Market area.

Cheers, PP
