Don't know if this helps:- my gt gt grandfather John Keir was chris 25 Apr 1830, Holy Trinity, Whitehaven - parents William Faulder Keir and Jane.

1851 @ 35 Castle Row, Mount Pleasant William "KERR" age 50 b Cleator. I'm thinking that the Faulder name perhaps came from a marriage in previous generations.

Possible marriage William Folder KEAR and Jane McDOLE
11 Jun 1820 St James, Whitehaven.
