Mike,

Looks like on 1841 William Kant ? is with grandfather John Spring age 55. In the next 3 houses are his married sons Samuel, William & Thomas. These three families are door-to-door on 1851 census, but no sign of grandfather John & our William.

Regards John

PS.  I notice Partridge listed in your name interests - where are they from ?

Good find John. I think it's definitely Kant - it's not an H as in Hannah 3 entries lower on the page

Hi mike, David & John,  I have John Spring and Mary Cox with children also John Spring and Ann Pedder.  Would you have the 1841 census for Samuel born 1810 as i never did get round to find him also William Cant with his grandfather in 1841 as you mentioned.  I do have my line Samuel Spring with Abigail and children.  I am very grateful for your help and appreciate it.   Gladys Smiley

Hi Gladys,

Janan beat me to it with the census, but I did find a death record for a John Spring in Woburn district in 1844. Might explain his absence from the 1851. Still haven't found later references to William.

Mike

PS to John. My Partridge ancestors were all in south Essex since at least 1785, and possibly previously in the Stepney area.

Hello Jan,  No problem for you to provide the 1841 Springs. The marriages are all on the IGI, William's is in Elstow as the 1851 has his wife Mary born there; the other 2 marriages were in Ridgmont.
