I'm looking for the birthplace and family of George Valter/Vaulter: He was born around 1773 and is likely to have come from the Exmoor part of Devon. I'm therefore looking in every Devon parish where there is a record of Valters (or similar): in particular those near Exmoor. 
He is known to have married Elizabeth Clatworthy in 1804 at Stoke Pero, Somerset and to have died in Luccombe, Somerset on 1835. There is no evidence of any birth /baptism in the Somerset area. It is possible that he came from a Devon clan of Valters/Vaulters, crossing over Exmoor into Somerset as a young adult. Possible parishes I'm searching include: South Molton, Barnstable, Halburton, Silverton, aswell as Meethe, Bratton Flemming, Bishop Nympton and Chittlehampton.
I would be grateful if anybody can help me to narrow down my search.
