I'm looking for the birthplace and parents/family of George Vatter/ Vaulter.
Evidence suggests he came from Devon: most likely the Exmoor area! I am however searching all the Parishes that have records of the Vatter /Vaulter surname, (or similar) 
His birthdate can be traced back to approx. 1773 He is known to have married Elizabeth Clatworthy in Stoke Pero, Somerset 1804 and to have died in Luccombe, Somerset 1835. There is no record of him being born/baptised in the area. It is thought that he came from the Exmoor area of Devon as a young lad and then settled in the Exmoor area of Somerset.
Possible Parishes that he may have come from include: South Molton, Barnstable, Halburton, Silverton aswell as Meethe, Bratton Flemming, Bishop Nympton and Chittlehampton.
I would be grateful if anyone could help me to narrow down my search for him.
