Clydebank newspapers
« on: Friday 15 June 07 08:30 BST (UK) »

I am trying to find a photograph of my grandfather Robert Whyte who was employed by John Brown's shipyard as an architect/designer. He worked on both the original Queens, HMS Vanguard and the first Caronia. I cannot find a photo of him amongst the family papers, and I thought perhaps a newspaper in Clydebank ( before 1949) might have one. Help needed please!

They have just demolished the last of the yard(John Brown's) in order to develop the land .All that remains is the crane which is being preserved by Historic Scotland.
So sad to see & I could hear/see in my minds eye all the men running out of the yard after the hooter had gone!Quite a sight for a wee girl.
