Turpin/Ridley - Whitby marriage

Hi,
I've found a marriage on the IGI Richard Turpin to Robson Ridley, 29 Feb 1756, Whitby, Yorks.

The bride's first name looks a bit suspect, does anyone have access to data that could reconfirm this please?

Don't know what to think to this, but could be she was the only child in a Robson -Ridley marriage.   Not unknown. On the other hand -well you know what sailors are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

had a look on the NBI for your Robson. couldn't find him or her  Good few Robsons and Ridleys though. Looks like they've been there quite some time
