I assume from your posting you have the census information for Daniel 1841-1881. Does this show the names of his wives - or give an idea of when he married. If the marriage/s were after 1837 you should be able to find them on FreeBDM - also any children born after this date. http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
1851 Daniel Howse 42 Ann Howse 42 Joseph 17 c. 1833/4 Tim 15 c. 1835/6 Jno 8 1842 Wm 6 1844 Thos 2 1848 Eliz 6 m 1850
In 1871 his wife is given as Mary Ann. Initially I thought this may be the same wife - ages are the same - but the birth places are different (although only 13 miles apart). There is a death for an Ann Howse Sep 1861, unfortunately age was not then on the index.
I can't see a marriage for Daniel after this date - there is a minor number not transcribed on FreeBDM for 1862/3.
There is an extracted marriage for Daniel and Ann Hitchcock on the IGI 1832 Shipton Under Wychwood, Oxford Record extracted from Oxfordshire Marriage Transcripts, 1538-1837, compiled by J. S. W. Gibson This is not a parish record - but a reliable transcript.
The marriage entry from the transcripts of Shipton-under-Wychwood (which would cover Milton at this time up to about 1850) reads
1832 Oct 15th Daniel Howse (signed House) of Milton bach to Ann Hitchcock of Bruen spinster by banns witnessed by Richard Howse and Amelia Gardner
there is only one baptism for their children in the Shipton registers
1834 May 4th Joseph s/o Daniel & Ann Howse lab of Milton
However there is an earlier baptism entry which I think is relevent
1811 April 4th - Roda & Richard & Elizabeth & Ann & Daniel sons and daughters of Joseph & Elizabeth Howse of Milton
Unfortunatly it doesn't give ages at baptism for the children - but I think this is very likly to be your Daniel. Joseph & Elizabeth are both still alive at the time of the 1851 census - he is given as 80 years old and born in Fifield Oxfordshire.
All the best

Be worth while reading some of the threads at the top of the beginners board http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,47.0.html which gives lots of hints and very useful internet sites. There is also a child board there called "Beginners links"
My information came from 2 very well used genealogy links FreeBDM giving an incomplete set of civil BDM registrations in England and Wales http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
And family search - the Website of the LDS church which has the IGI - the largest online collection of pre civil registration baptisms and marriages http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl It also has the 1881 British census available free of charge.
(I did assume you had the census information - there are a number of pay sites with UK census data)
I assume Debbie has a copy (or access to a copy) of the Shipton registers. (She can no doubt confirm or deny ). The Oxfordshire family history society sells these. I don't know if they are online. http://www.ofhs.org.uk/
