Can't see a marriage for James and Jane, but for reference purposes...
1851 Todmorden, Yorkshire HO 107/2289 folio 394 pp.6-7 Address: Mount Pleasant James Morgan, head, 36, general bookbinder & ruler, Newcastle upon Tyne Northumberland Jane do., wife, 40, Gateshead Durham Louisa Jane HARLE [or HASLE?]. daur in law, 16, weaver of cotton, Newcastle upon Tyne Northumberland Edmund MORGAN, son, 13, throstle [?] watcher in factory, Spalding Lincolnshire Elizabeth Ann do., daur, 10, scholar, Halifax Yorkshire Salina Eliza do., daur, 8, scholar, Nottingham James Mathew do., son, 6, scholar, Nottingham Ellen Victoria do., daur, 3, Nottingham
It looks like Louisa Jane wasn't James's daughter ("daughter in law" meaning "step-daughter") which suggests that she was illegitimate or that her mother Jane had been previously married and widowed.
It also looks like James and Jane may have been married before civil registration kicked in, possibly in Lincolnshire.
Best bet would be to obtain a copy of one of the younger children's birth certificates. This should record Jane's name prior to her marriage and also her original maiden name.
A reasonable starting place? James Matthew MORGAN Dec qtr 1844, Nottingham vol 15 p 579
or possibly Helen Victoria MORGAN June qtr 1847, Nottingham vol 15 p 592

Found this on the IGI...
Louisa Jane HARLE born <1840><Todmorden, Yorks> married John Harker UTTLEY <1861> <Todmorden, Yorks>
This is a member submission, so there are no sources quoted and the dates and places are obviously squiffy. An interesting record nonetheless?

Hi There
thanks so much for that looks like I am going to have to go with the birth certificate..
since posting I located the 1841 and Louisa is on as daughter Louisa (looks like Herle Morgan)
I thought that maybe Jane was a herle and that was why louisa had the middle name..
I will get my neighbour who im doing this tree for to order a certificate so that we can determine who jane was..
Thanks so much for your reply

Now that does look promising as on the 1891 Census Edmund Morgan has a Son named James Harker Morgan B 1881 and John Morgan was his father so that does look like she was indeed born out of wedlock..
thanks again
