I am looking for any info on descendants of Thomas Gorrian b.1835 in Newry and married to Mary Daly Dailly on 08/09/1855 in Lennoxtown.  Mary was born 1834 in Strabane and her parents were Philip Daly and Marjory Kelly.  Thomas and Mary had 7 children, Hugh b. 1856, Mary b. 1858,  John b.1860, Helen b.1862? 1863, Thomas b.1866, Jane b.1872 and Philip b.1874.  Mary's   Daughter Mary married Patrick Docherty on 05/01/1879  and they had 10 children, Jane, Patrick, Thomas, Margaret, John, Anne, Grace, Ellen, Michael and Mary and they were born Kilsyth/Cumbernauld.  Any info gratefully received.

hello!

I am researching my husbands family and noticed your post.  I realise that it was some time ago but if you are still interested in this family, I may be able to help.  Patrick Docherty & Mary Gorrian are my husbands gr-gr grandparents, their son Thomas married Mary Simpson who are his gr grandparents.  They also had 10 children, including my paternal grandmother Alice.

I have quite a bit of info that I am willing to share if you are still looking at this family.

Regards

Lesley

Hi Lesley
Thank you very much for the reply and I apologise for the delay as I was away for a few days.  Patrick Docherty and Mary Gorrian were my mothers Gr Grandparents and daughter Jane married Matthew Taylor, my grandparents so it looks like we are related.
Since I sent my first post I have found some further info , however I would be more than happy to share any info with you, in particular I have come up against a brick wall with Thomas Gorrian and Mary Daly as I am not sure where in Ireland they originate.
I will send you a pm if this ok with you.
Regards

Nabla,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Jane Taylor nee Docherty is my husbands gr-grandfathers (thomas docherty) sister.

We are also struggling with Thomas Gorrain & Mary Dailey - two heads are better than 1 though!

Feel free to pm me.
