I've looked on the BMD index but cannot find her. Harriett Taylor appears on the 1901 census under her married name of Hunt aged 40, living in Birmingham. I can safely add that she died aged 58 in Birmingham 1919. She was however, according to the 1901 census, born in Worcester. Could this be referring to the city or county, though her first two children were born in the city too. It's these children (for whom I have the birth certificates) that has her as "Harriett Hunt, formerly Taylor". I cannot find her marriage certificate to Charles Hunt either, thus suggesting that she may have married before, thus saying that Taylor was not her birth name.

That is the entry indeed. I've got birth and death details for all 3 children. Alice died in 1968, Ellen (my gran) died in 1972 while Rose Harriet (her full name) died just a few months after the census was taken. I've tracked Harriett Hunt's burial to Witton Cemetary in Birmingham, but being buried in a common grave, she now lies around 15ft down with no marker stone. I can add that she signed her name with 2 t's and that her death certicate has her with 2 t's. It's likely that is how her name was registered at birth.
She died on 18/11/1919 aged 58, meaning that her birth would have been between 19/11/1960 and 31/03/1961.

hi darthdc
to be honest I don't think it's going to be possible as we need to have the marriage cert to confirm Harriett's father's name. I can't see any trace of a marriage either but perhaps they never did. Even if a possible birth is found you still need to have the marriage cert details to prove the father!
