Phew, I've had a good tinker about with your site, it's taken be the good part of an hour, but I've put the kettle on and I'm going to treat myself to a biscuit.
The main problem with your site it appears is because you had cut-and-pasted from your website that was created elsewhere, so a lot of things had been carried over from the other site which was making things look incorrect. That's why all the images for the links weren't working.
I've also moved the links to a seperate heading on their own to make them easier to get to.
To load up images to CMSimple, you need to click the "IMAGES" button (don't use the DOWNLOADS button) To then show images on a page you select the name of the image in the "Images:" dropdown box, and press the little button next to it (it looks like a right-angled-arrow pointing down). I've put in the image Mary_Robert_Sewell_1930.jpg to your page as an example (remove it if you like!).
I've also done a "starting page" for your site, so people can choose to go to either your tree or your home page. Oh and a big "Sewell Family Tree" logo to go with it. 
Your username on the CMSimple site is now shorter as "sewellfamilyhistory" to make it easier to type in.
See how you get on with that, remeber you create new pages by typing in a heading on an existing page, then you highlight it, and click "H1". It will then become a new page with that heading.
