does anyone know where i would get a marriage cert for a wedding in 1902 in stamford. the reg office in stamford does not have them.

If the marriage took place in Stamford, the Register Office must have them.
Can you give us the names, so that a search can be made on the GRO Index.

i know the wedding took place in stamford 1902 herbert wright and mary ellen lee., but the reg office in stamford dont have any records there

Stamford register Office must have the marriage on record, perhaps they were reluctant to do a search. For some register Offices that cover a large area, it is very time consuming to do a search without knowing at which church the the marriage took place, you would be better ordering a certificate from the GRO.

HI I HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT FOR RECORDS IN STAMFORD IN 1902 AT LEAST ARE KEPT AT LINCS REG SERVICES, PO BOX 760, LINCOLN, LN2 5WG. THE LOCAL REG OFFICE DO NOT HAVE THEM.
