thanks for that Donna, kept me busy for ages and i learnt a bit too!!
i now have my webpage up and running thanks to Trystans help,
 BUT i cant find where to "add new page" or add a blank page so i can edit and play  Cool  [currently using the phpGEDview]

Sorry, I've only just noticed your reply!  If you look at my web page www.tobitt-tree.rootschat.net and on the tool bar at the top of internet explorer click on view and then source you should be able to see the code I've typed to create my web page.  Hopefully this should help you out on linking pages etc.  You can do this on anyones website aswell to give you a few ideas.
