Hi,

Do you have their marriage certificate, giving her age and her father's name and occupation?  Have you already found her in the 1901 census?

The marriage took place in 1914 in Edmonton, do you have the marriage certificate, this should state her age?

Have you traced her in the 1901 census?

I will take a look and see what I can find.

Well, it's difficult to find her birth until you know her age, there are several births for a Margaret Bloomfield in Suffolk.  The marriage ref is June Quarter Edmonton 3a 1108.

I may have found Albert Moyns in 1901 census, but not sure if you want his details?

I really would advise getting the marriage certificate, this would give you her age and fathers name, so you would have something concrete to work with.

How do you know that she originated from Suffolk?

Here's a possible birth:

Sept Qu 1891 Stow S, 4a 762  Maggie Bloomfield

What do you think?  She's not born before April 1891 as not with Charles & Eliza then.  If you decided to buy the certificate, the local register office should be able to confirm her parents before you pay for it.

family's 1891 details:
RG12/1454 fol.25 p.1   5 Hawk End, Elmswell, Stow
Bloomfield
Charles head m 29 Farm Labourer - Shepherd   Norton, Suffolk
Eliza      wife  m 27  Washerwoman         Elmswell Suffolk
Ellen L   dau       5   Scholar                           "
Alice M    "          3                                          "
Kate E     "          1                                          "

Hopefully someone will re visit this. Those looking for this Margret Bloomfield will not find her birth certificate as she was christened Agnes May.

Hi Gillian,

Welcome to Rootschat!   Smiley

Sorry for the late reply, have been away for 3 weeks.

Yogibear should have been notified that you have replied, hope so anyway, perhaps away on holiday too.

So is Margaret/Agnes May the same person as the Agnes I found on the 1901 census (below)?

Kind regards, Barbara
