I am looking for a Benjamin Lowe born about 1791/3 on the 1861 census.
In 1841 & 1851 he is living with his wife Mary at Sheet Ludford Nr. Ludlow.
On the 51 it says he was born Halford. I think I have just found him in 1871 on Freecen living at Rock Lane Stanton Lacy with a Richard & Martha Weaver, it says where born unknown.
He had a son called Benjamin who also married a Mary, this Benjamin was born 1816/19 and I have got him in 1861 living at Stoke St Millborough.
there are no Lowes there in 1895 but a Charles Edwards was farming at Hicks Barn.
I don't know which spelling is correct but in Foxall's gazetteer of place names he calls it Hucks Barn and says it was 3 quarters of a mile SSW of Ludford.
Found this - transcribed as Lore but could be Lowe RG9/1837/10/14

s.g.d. thank you that does look very interesting I have got a Thomas Lowe in my tree so that info could be very helpfull.
Fisherman, thank you I think you have found Benjamin for me, I feel sure this must be him as he did have a daughter Martha b.1829 and she was a dressmaker.
