Thank you so much John, you have gone beyond what you needed to do. This is so great.
I guess that what I have to do is find a definite connection with this William being Henry's parent.
What is my next step in this. Getting Henry's birth certificate, what will that prove??
I am talking to myself here.
Thanks again for all you have done. Gail Kent

As I mentioned in my original reply, Henry was born before 1837 so there is no birth certificate. Just a baptism entry in a parish register, on the assumption that he was baptised.
So going through Stanbridge parish register is your next step - his baptism may have been missed when the PR was transcribed for the IGI, but I doubt it. But any other detail on the 1801 baptism might provide a clue.
Check with BLARS to see if they hold a will for William in which he might have named his children.
But if you can't find a baptism for Henry you're down to the balance of probabilities
David

Looked at Stanbridge PRs, for Buckinghams
Only Baptism, is Martha daughter of William & "Luce" Buckingham on 4 Oct 1801 No marriages *** Only Burial is Lucy, wife of John Buckingham on 23 May 1809
*** Stanbridge only had a few marriages 1609-1641, 1649-1707, & 1739-1793. The PR states that no marriages were recorded, anyone that was married would be recorded in the Leighton Buzzard PRs.
So from LB parish register. Sure enough entries do have Stanbridge in brackets, but not your Buckinghams. Those found are as follows, but none do state Stanbridge.
Baptisms as follows 4 Jun 1807 Mary daughter of William Buckingham 17 Jan 1809 Eliz daughter of William Buckingham
Banns have Wm Buckingham to Sarah Linney on 30 Sept 1810 - but cannot see any marriage in LB
Burial at LB, Sarah Buckingham Jan 11 1811
So no sign of Henry b 1803, however having just checked his 3 marriages they were all in hamlet of Billington, why do you think he was from Stanbridge ? & no sign of a marriage of William to Lucy
Also I checked the Toddington marriage of Joseph Buckingam & Ann Forster, it does say where he comes from.
John

Thanks for all that John. I have a copy of Henry Buckingham & Rebecca Burrige, both widower/widow. the marriage took place 1841 at the Parish Curch in the Parish of Standbridge in the County of Bedford. I got it from the Registration District of Leighton Buzzard.
Other than that I do not have anything that proves William also came from that area.
If you want copies I can send them to you. Here is my e-mail: gailkent@saltspringwireless.com
Thanks again for all. Gail

Henry also gave Stanbridge as his birthplace in 1851-61-71.

Hello,
I'm just looking at Buckinghamshire Poor Law Records index, & I come across a Thomas Buckingham & wife Ann & son William; Removal to Stanbridge, Beds from Radclive, (just 1.4 miles WSW of Tingewick) in 1747.
In same year, again from Radclive, is Thomas Buckiungham & wife Ann & son Thomas; Settlement in Leighton Buzzard, Beds.
John
