Hello Tati
Thank you for helping me again. If I am not pushing it a bit (sorry) - is it possible you could look up the 1861 and 1871 for me???
The census information that you have already found is very useful and will help me move into another branch of this family. Cheers.
Rosie.

This is great Tati,
Yes I have her on the 1881 with her family. She married Edward SMITH aged 43 years and living in St Pancras, Middlesex. I am still very interested in John & Hannah MAY (Martha's parents). This is one of those unexpected finds this evening and is quite exciting.
Regards and thanks Rosie.

1861 RG9/1750 55 14 Wotton under Edge (can't read street name) John May, Head, 51, Carpenter, b. Wotton u Edge Hannah, wife, 49, Laundress, b. Kingswood
I can't see John or Hannah in 1871. Possible death for Hannah: Dec 1868 age 55 Dursley 6a 119
Could you post the 1881 reference for Martha please?

Thanks Tati, I am very happy to.
The reference for 1881 is:-
Dwelling: 34 Wood Place, London Middx FHLF: 1341002 PROR: RG11; PIECE 0009/105 - PAGE 33.
Can I ask you a question Tati? Do you know how accurate John and Hannah's age might be, bearing in mind the time period? Did people keep accurate dates of birth for themselves during the mid 1800's?
Cheers Rosie.

Many thanks Tati,
They seem to have been very good family people and with the neices and nephews mentioned, I see that my work is going to be cut out for me over the next few nights - he, he, I love it.
Have a good evening and I look forward to talking to you again soon.
Regards, Rosie

Hello Tati
Thank you for your messages. Sorry I haven't responded sooner, I work during the day.
I too have checked through the FreeBMD's for a marriage between Edward SMITH and Martha MAY. The nearest I could find but suspect it is not the correct couple is a reference for Martha Elizabeth MAY (right name) but a Joseph SMITH on the same page for a marriage June Q 1863 Shoreditch. Probably not correct.
Thank you for the other information you have found for me, I will see what I can do with that - I have a feeling that some of it may marry up with odd bits of information I have in my paper files.
Many thanks, Rosie.
