Hi James,

A relatively newbie, here, was browsing the various boards and came across the one for Phimister.

My mother was the 3rd ggranddaughter of George Phimister and Christian Bremner.

I also have a lot of info.

Cheers

Hi there kiwihalfpint, welcome on board.  I haven't been Phimistering for some time, so, please, tell me who these two are if you would.  There's 4 pages of messages on this thread.
(I was actually in the middle of something in Kiwiland when the notification came through of your message)

Thanks,

James.

Hi James,

I have no idea you Georges parents were, but George was born about 1756 in Hempriggs, Wicks, Caithness, Scotland and Christian Bremner was the daughter of James Bremner and Jannet Sinclair.  Chrisitan was born 29 July 1760 in Quaybme, Orkney Islands, Scotland.    They were my 4th ggrandparents.

Not sure if this is what you want.

Main search area has been Fraserburgh but some names kind of connect. Of late, I've been giving all that a bit of a rest while I took on new research which has nothing to do with Caithness/Fraserburgh etc.  I'm now kind of rusty on it and therefore slow.

I mentioned Kiwiland.

I'll pm you a couple of forums in that respect, and one rather more general one.
Meantime share what you like on here and be glad you've found such a first class site.

James.

Hi, Smiley

My batteries must be recharging as I forgot to reply to a response to this thread and sent you PMs instead.

Alexena, and I have known about each other for a while, in fact Alexena has been out to NZ and met my mother many years ago and of course mum went back to Scotland quiet a few times.

A few months ago someone contacted through GR and had given me more information on the Phimisters, information that wasn't given to me the first time round, so of course up popped the MORES, but unfortnately the McKenzie line was not on the list.  So I don't mind swapping information for more information.

Ah... I hadn't gotten around to putting on my Phimister branch on GR which is why you hadn't popped up (in fact my memebership has lapsed).  I need to get around to doing that properly...and I will send you the McKenzie line which ends up at me (and now my kids!)
I am in the process (in between dealing with said kids) of learning how to use PAF files properly but it is a long and arduous task with precious little time to do it  Cry
