Hi My G Grand Mother’s brother’s daughter, Catherine Jane Hopkins married Samuel Pass in Stroud, June 1893.
I have found him in the following census’s 1871 aged 6 Witton (Cheshire) 1881 aged 15 Witton (Cheshire) 1901 aged 36 Cainscross (Gloucester)
The ages fit correctly with the age on their Marriage cert. At the time of the marriage he was a Coach Builder, by the 1901 census he was a Life Insurance agent
His father was Thomas Dawson Pass Coach Builder and I have found him not only on the above census yrs but also in 1891 (Poulton Lancs) he also seems to have been somewhat unlucky in that his father seems to have had 3 different wives on the 3 different census’s ’71 ’81 ’91.
BUT I can’t find Samuel anywhere in 1891
Can anyone else find him or suggest a reason for him not being on the 1891.
I will post in the Cheshire pages as well
