My Gt. Grandmother was Barbara Mackay ,daughter of John Mackay and Anne Matheson.She was born in Dornoch in 1807 and married Alexander Matheson ,Skelbomoor in1831.I would like to learn more about John and Anne,can anyone help?   Ray Scourie

Hi Scourie

This is the only marriage record for those names coming up in the

Dornoch are 28/12/1791 MACKAY JOHN WEMYSS /MATHESON PAGE129 M Dornoch (Sutherland) /SUTHERLAND 047/ 0010 0131

You can view it at Scotland's People but as it is an OPR record it's unlikely their parents names will be onit.

There are also 3 possible deaths recorded post 1855 on Scotland';s People for Dornoch. These all have a maiden name Matheson and it will show if married to a John Mackay as well as giving parents names.

You can do a similar search for John if you think he died 1855 or later.
