I am looking for information anyone might have on the scorse family of helston, cornwall. The name doesn't originate there, of that I am pretty sure, but anything anyone might have, would be brilliant - please get in touch! Grin

I have some info on William and Mary (Thomas) Scorse.  William was born in Cornwall about 1806, and worked in Helston as a cordwainer.  The couple had at least 4 children, one of whom (Caroline born 1833) married Henry Symons.  Other children were Mary Thomas, Elizabeth and William.  I believe both William and Mary Scorse died in 1855, in their forties.  William's parents might have been William and Rebecca (Lanyon) Scorse, but this isn't certain.  I also think the family came from another county, possibly Somerset.
