Help! John CARPENTER Confusion

I am having difficulty in finding any information on the birth or marraige of my partner ancestor John Carpenter.

At the moment the only information I have on him is as follows

John Carpenter born 1805-07 in Turville Buckinghamshire was listed as living with his wife Caroline and his son Henry James on the 1851 Census in Finsbury.  Later on the 1861 Census he is listed as a widow living in Streaham Surrey.

He died in Maidenhead in 1895 aged 89, his son Henry James was present at the time of death. 

All through the census returns his place of birth is listed as Turville Buckinghamshire until 1891 when he is listed as being born in Oxon.

I have been unable to find him on the 1841 Census

I am trying to find out when John and Caroline got married and if they had anyother children other then Henry.  Also I am trying to find out when Caroline died.

Any advice or help will be gratefully received

Could this be the marriage? (their son's birth certificate would confirm her Caroline's maiden name)

I see from the censuses, that she is with John in 1861, but missing from 1871 onwards, so looks like she died between these dates.. Looking on the indexes on ancestry, there are a few possibilities, including this one which I think is the correct registration district if they were still living in Streatham -

I find it so fustrating that I cannot seem to find them pre 1851.  I guess I shall have to get Henry's birth certificate to be entirely sure.  This family history is getting to be an expensive hobby  Shocked Grin

On the IGI there are the following children with parents John & Caroline Carpenter.

All christened St Leonards, Streatham, Surrey, IGI Batch Number C055191
Emily Carpenter christened 09/02/1862,
Alice Carpenter, born 06/06/1859, christened 11/09/1859,
Frederick Thomas Carpenter, christened 31/03/1857, died 06/04/1857
Caroline Carpenter, born 07/02/1856, christened 31/05/1856, died 06/06/1856

Can't tell if they may be yours but could be possibles.

Have also found a marriage between a John Carpenter & Caroline Hodges 1850 in Broadwater by Worthing, Sussex

I have just recently found out through John's son Henry James's birth certificate that John married a Caroline Friend.  Those children will be interesting to chase up  Smiley
