Missing Death HAWTHORN 1871 - 1881

I'm having a tough time trying to find the death of ROBERT HAWTHORN born Ireland 1832. Please can anyone help me?  Smiley
He's in Scotland cenus until moving to Gorton, Manchester, Lancs, He is on the 1871 census as a lithographic Printer, there with wife Margaret,
children- Eliazabeth, William, James, Robert and Margaret.

Wife Margaret is listed as a widow in the 1881 census.

This is driving me up the wall ... Thanks in advance for any answers or hints.

A possible is.. ROBERT HAWTHORNE b 1828 d 1879 Chorlton
                                                            Q1  8C PAGE 565.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have already bought that death cert cos I was desperate! but I really don't think it's my Robert,  age on cert is 51 and Hawthorne spelt with an e.  Huh

Am beginning to wonder if he left his wife? Did people sometimes lie and say Widow on the census when they weren't?

born 1832 Ireland
living at 4 Crewe Place Salford
kids wer Sarah 21
John 19
Robert 16
Martha 14
Elizabeth 8
Mary 6

  As you have that cert who is it giving details of death ie informant.

Does this name fit in anywhere.

Names and dates can be out and surprisingly very often. The date of birth mat be right ,often the year is out.

Does the cert give details of where he died or an address small bits may help prove or disprove.

The informant is an A Hawthorne, not Margaret.........
Occupation is 'Army pensioner, bank porter'
and wrong address!

Now you know why i'm stuck!

Ive even checked the Scots cencus too.

  There is one in Sheffield b 1832 but I thought that maybe a bit off track.

  B 1832 d 1878 Q1 Sheffield vol 9c 244 Spelt HAWTHORNE again though.
