St. Issells
« on: Saturday 11 December 04 21:23 UTC (UK) »

Hi All

Could anyone tell me which registration district St. Issells (I believe it's near Saundersfoot) would come under in Pembroke.   Huh

I am searching for the birth certificate of Sarah Harris born there about 1839.

Thanks

According to genuki.org.uk it's in the hundred of Narbeth, County of Pembroke.

FreeBMD has this:

Narberth
Created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Pembrokeshire, but included parts of Carmarthenshire.
Sub-districts : Amboth; Begelly; Llanboidy; Llandissilio; Narberth; Slebech.
GRO volumes : XXVI (1837-51); 11a (1852-1930).

Amroth, Begelly, Bletherston, Clarbeston, Coedcaulass, Crinow, Crunwear, Grondre, Jeffreston, Lampeter Velfry, Llandewy Velfry, Llandilo, Llandissilio, Llanfalteg, Llangan, Llangolman, Llanycefn, Llawhaden, Llysyfrane, Loveston, Ludchurch, Maenclochog, Martletwy, Minwere, Monachlogddu, Mounton, Narberth North, Narberth South, Newmoat, North Newton, Reynoldston, Robeston Wathon, St. Issells, Slebech, Williamston, Yerbeston.

Registers now divided between Haverfordwest and Carmarthen districts.

I couldn't see her on FreeBMD, you may have to contact the local register office.

Hi Meg

Many thanks for the reply, that makes things much clearer.

I could not see her on FreeBMD either, which was why I was searching for the right registration district, thanks again.

best wishes
