Hello,
I am trying to find details on a Policeman from Sheffield who was killed in action during WW1. His name was Frederick William Selch. I think he may be from March, Cambridgshire. I wonder if anybody could help me.
The 1881 census shows a possible family who could be his mother and father
1881 Boot & Shoe yard, March Cambridgeshire John Selch aged 28, Bricklayer Emily Selch aged 25 Wife Emily Selch aged 2 Daughter
I think John and Emily may have got married in 1876 at Thetford
I also think Emily may have died in 1894, so she wouldn't be on the 1901 census.
I wonder if anybody could give me details which confirm these are the parents of Frederick William Selch
Thanks in advance
Robert.

Thanks for the info Ricky. I think that confirms I was looking at the right family. If anybody could confirm Emily's death and possibly tell me where the family were in 1901.
Also I think I said Frederick was a policeman - well he could also have been a fireman, I have yet to confirm which.

Hello Ricky,
the first Emily must be the daughter from the 1881 census
